Communication from the City Manager with a PRESENTATION from FITCH AND ASSOCIATES concerning the Fire and Dispatch Service Study.

BACKGROUND:  In May of 2018, the City of Peoria entered into an agreement with Fitch and Associates to perform an analysis of the City of Peoria 911 system, specifically the study is utilizing the following scope of work:

 

1.                     Overview of the Fire Department and Dispatch Center

2.                     Analysis of Fire and EMS response by response area and call type

3.                     Marginal utility of optimized resource allocation

4.                     Analysis of Fire and EMS apparatus and resource configuration to meet current and future needs

5.                     Compare and contrast with national and regional models

6.                     Provide a comprehensive staffing analysis of the Dispatch Center

7.                     Evaluate the Dispatch Center against recognized standards and best practice

8.                     Evaluate the technology

9.                     Evaluate the call intake protocol, training and quality assurance

 

Bruce Moeller, Senior Consultant with Fitch and Associates, will update the City Council on the study and present several of the findings and recommendations.
