Communication from the City Manager and Fire Chief with a Request to APPROVE a Two-Year CONTRACT with TARGET SOLUTIONS LEARNING, LLC., for TRAINING SOFTWARE to Schedule, Track, and Monitor Mandated Training for all Fire Personnel, in the Amount of $16,944.65 per Year, for a Total Amount of $33,889.30.

BACKGROUND: The Fire Training Academy schedules and monitors all mandated training of Fire Department personnel. Target Solutions Learning, LLC will provide software that better enables the scheduling and monitoring of training by providing online training courses that are compliant with NFPA codes and standards and accredited continuing education courses.
Target Solutions Learning, LLC feature more than 2,500 online courses for all types of government agencies. The software includes more than 450 hours of Fire Department training, including 250 hours of Fire & EMS continuing education training and 50 hours of OSHA safety training.
This software makes it possible to track every aspect of the Fire Department's training and compliance program through recordkeeping technology.
The Fire Training Division has worked without personnel to help track and monitor mandated training. Target Solutions will aid in consistent scheduling and monitoring of imperative trainings in a timely manner to ensure the safety of personnel and the community.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: The cost will be from the Fire Department's operational budget line item 101-2232-50.3999.
NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: N/A
IMPACT IF APPROVED: The Fire Department will have the technology to better enable training scheduling as well as monitoring of training and the ability to complete training mandated by the State and by the Office of the State Fire Marshall.
IMPACT IF DENIED: The monitoring and training schedules will revert to the old system of Spreadsheets and "check-off" lists.
