BACKGROUND: In order to meet the regulations and requirements of IDOT, Public Works utilizes Econolite traffic cabinets. Econolite traffic cabinets meet IDOT specifications. Traffic Control Corporation is the only authorized seller, service and repair supplier for Econolite products. Traffic Control Corporation is the sole authorized Econolite distributor for the State of Illinois.
Public Works staff recommends that cabinets be purchased as needed, as it is necessary to keep an adequate inventory on hand to address any emergency damages to existing cabinets, ensuring continuity of service and safe roadways.
