BACKGROUND: In order to reduce the maintenance cost of mowing and to improve infiltration, the turf grass areas at the Public Works Facility will be converted to Native Prairie Plants. The project also includes a 3-to-5-year maintenance plan to help the prairie plants get established and a walking path. In addition, the project includes the upgrade of the main entrance of the facility to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.

The plans and specifications were prepared by Midwest Engineering. The Advertisement for Bids for this project was published in the Peoria Journal Star and on the City's website. Public Works opened Bids on February 23, 2023, with 3 bids received.
