Communication from the City Manager and Community Development Director with a request to RECEIVE and FILE a POLICY REPORT on AFFORDABLE HOUSING.

BACKGROUND: The City Council has requested a policy session on the topic of affordable housing in Peoria. Staff has developed a multi-part document that will be presented at the policy session.
The policy session goals are as follows:
1. Present a summary of affordable housing terms and data.
2. Present an overview of national and local affordable housing issues.
3. Present an overview of national and local affordable housing strategies.
4. Discussion and direction from Council.
Staff anticipates that the Council will provide direction on various strategies that can be more fully developed and brought back for discussion and/or action by Council.
