Communication from the City Manager with a Request to RECEIVE and FILE a PRESENTATION from the DOWNTOWN ADVISORY COMMISSION.

BACKGROUND: The Downtown Advisory Commission (DAC) is seeking to discuss a series of proactive policy recommendations to support the development of the downtown area.
Historically, the DAC has only responded to inquiries from the City and this is the first time they are working to proactively offer recommendations on priorities for Council support. These are the first of a series of recommendations that they expect to offer on occasion as part of their effort to continuously improve and support the development of Downtown.
Today’s recommendations include:
1) Ongoing support of Riverfront planning and low to no cost testing of new experiences to attract diverse groups.
2) Adoption and acceptance of Wayfinding plan with request to search for funding - possibly from grants or other outside sources
3) Inclusion of a “CSO affect” statement in every plan.
