BACKGROUND: On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, an African American man died at the hands of four Minneapolis, Minnesota Police Officers. Media reports detail that one officer knelt on Mr. Floyd’s neck while Mr. Floyd was subdued, struggling to breathe and requesting assistance. The actions of the Minneapolis, Minnesota police officers involved in Mr. Floyd’s death must be publicly denounced and confronted as systematic racism and an act of violence.
