BACKGROUND: 

 

TOBACCO ENFORCEMENT GRANT - The City of Peoria received a grant from the Illinois Department of Revenue to ensure that local establishments are in compliance with the minimum age laws regarding the sale of tobacco products in the amount of $10,450. The receipt and expenditure of this grant needs to be reflected in the Amended 2017 General Fund Budget in the amount of $10,450.

 

ICJA Domestic Violence Grant - The City of Peoria received a grant from the Illinois Criminal justice Authority to provide funding to the Domestic Violence Investigator in the amount of $88,648. The receipt and expenditure of this grant needs to be reflected in the Amended 2017 General Fund Budget in the amount of $10,450.

 

IDOIT’s STEP PROGRAM - The City of Peoria received a grant from the State of Illinois Department of Transportation under the Highway Safety Project Agreement Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) to  allow the City to conduct special enforcement for impaired driving mobilizations and occupant protection mobilizations during six or more holidays. The receipt and expenditure of this grant fund needs to be reflected in the Amended 2017 General Fund Budget.

 

TRANSFER FROM GENERAL FUND TO CAPITAL FUND - In order to replace the file server for City wide police cameras in the Police Department is requesting that funds be transferred from their General Fund operating account for small equipment to the Capital Fund to purchase a new file server for the City wide police cameras in the amount of $16,000.

 

ENBRIDGE, ILLINOIS AMERICAN WATER & VERNON “BUTCH” GUDAT CHARITABLE FUND GRANTS - The Peoria Fire Department is in receipt of grant funds totaling $2,750 from Enbridge, Illinois American Water and the Vernon “Butch” Gudat Charitable Fund. These grants were provided to the department to provide for safety equipment and fire safety programming. The receipt and expenditure of these grant funds need to be reflected in the Amended 2017 General Fund Budget.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:  The General Fund revenues and expenditures will be increased by $125,144 and the Capital Fund revenues and expenditures will be increased by $16,000.

IMPACT IF APPROVED: Compliance with the internal control system and legislative requisite to keep the approved budget in balance.

 

IMPACT IF DENIED:  Failure to recognize increased revenues and expenditures related to the General Fund Budget.
