BACKGROUND: 

Bradley University is requesting an amendment to the Bradley University Official Development Plan to allow for the demolition of Jobst Hall and Baker Hall and new construction of a proposed Business and Engineering Complex (the new home for the Foster College of Business and the Caterpillar College of Engineering), also referred to as the Convergence Center. The construction duration is estimated to be four years, including two primary phases of construction, and resulting in a new 270,000 square foot, 5 story (4 stories above ground and 1 below ground) building, proposed to contain the following elements:

v                     193 Offices

v                     25 Classrooms

v                     8 Computer Labs

v                     46 Specialized Labs

 

A Neighborhood Meeting was held, January 19, 2017 and an interactive website, for the community to submit questions and comments, was established to further engage the public.

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS:  None expressed at the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting. 

                     

IMPACT IF APPROVED: The Official Development Plan will be amended to allow for the demolition of Jobst and Baker halls and the proposed new building. 

 

IMPACT IF DENIED:  The Official Development Plan will not be amended.
