Communication from the City Manager and Community Development Director with a Request to Concur with the Recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission and Staff for the Following:

 

A.                     ADOPT an ORDINANCE Approving a REZONING from a Class CN (Neighborhood Commercial) and R-4 (Single-Family Residential) to a Class R-7 (Multi-Family Residential) for the Property Located at 411 S. BACKGROUND:  The request is to 1) Rezone the property from a Class CN (Neighborhood Commercial) and R-4 (Single-Family Residential) to all Class R-7 (Multi-Family Residential), and 2) Amend an existing Special Use, Ordinance No. 15,638, for a Group Home for permanent housing for persons with disabilities, to add property and a building addition.  The amended approval will be described as a group care facility, consistent with the current Unified Development Code. 

 

On February 2, 2017, the Planning and Zoning Commission voted 5-0 to approve the request.  See the attached Planning and Zoning Commission case packet and minutes for more detailed information.

IMPACT IF APPROVED: An additional six bedrooms will be added to the existing Veterans Home facility.
