Under Master Services Agreement #16-119-B for the GLEN AVENUE PROJECT (WAR MEMORIAL DRIVE to UNIVERSITY STREET). [Council District 4]

Body

BACKGROUND:  West Glen Avenue, from War Memorial Drive to North University Street, is in need of improvement. The pavement has deteriorated due to a high volume of traffic, including trucks traveling between commercial sites. This project will be designed according to “Complete Streets” guidelines, accommodating all users of the right-of-way, and will improve the existing roadway by providing multi-modal transportation alternatives and applicable green infrastructure on this section between two high-density commercial zones. Approximately 5,100 linear feet of roadway will be removed and reconstructed under the construction portion of the project.

The attached Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) Resolution will fund the preliminary design engineering services, which will be provided by Midwest Engineering Associates, Inc. under Master Service Agreement #16-119-B, approved by Council April 12, 2016.

Attachments include the MFT Resolution covering the engineering services and a project location map.
