Communication from the City Manager with a REPORT BACK on the COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS ON RACE Working Groups with a Request to Receive and File

 

Body

BACKGROUND:  In March 2017, the City convened work group meetings to develop actionable solutions for the Community Conversations on Race in specific areas.  The attached document is a status report that includes a summary of the meetings and the areas of focus coming out of each work group.  Some of the work groups still have work to complete, and they will be continuing their meetings this month.

 

The areas of focus include:

                     Asset Development;

                     Economic Development;

                     Education;

                     Health;

                     Infrastructure;

                     Justice; and

                     Workforce Development

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:  Any financial impact will be built into the 2018-19 budget.

 

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS:  Neighborhoods and residents are encouraged to participate in the Conversations.
