Communication from the City Manager and Chief of Police with a Request to APPROVE a PURCHASE of (4) Four Solar Powered Camera Surveillance Trailers from INDUSTRIAL VIDEO & CONTROL, in the Amount of $91,239.00.

Body
BACKGROUND: In May 2022 the City of Peoria issued a Request for Proposals (RFP 24-22) for a Solar Powered Camera Surveillance Trailer. The highest scoring Proposal was submitted by Industrial Video & Control (IV&C). The Camera Surveillance Trailer is a towable platform which will be equipped with solar panels in order to charge the battery bank that would entirely power the on-board recorder, Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) Camera and a cellular modem which would allow remote connectivity. In addition, IV&C will also provide virtual training for staff as well as a 3-year warranty. By the City purchasing (4) Four of these, the Police Department's video evidence gathering technology would not only increase but become more mobile allowing units to be moved in response to increase in crime in in different locations. $50,000.00 of the purchase from the 2022 Public Safety Video Camera CIP Account, and the remaining $41,239.00 from the 2022 Police Technology CIP Account.

FINANCIAL IMPACT: $50,000.00 of the purchase from the 2022 Public Safety Video Camera CIP Account, and the remaining $41,239.00 from the 2022 Police Technology CIP Account.
