BACKGROUND:  The 2017 Community Investment Plan provides for the purchase of one (1) Engine Pumper for the Fire Department. This Engine Pumper will replace one (1) Engine Pumper that is 22 years old with over 105,000 miles.

Banner Fire Equipment Company has agreed to hold their price for this Engine Pumper to their early 2016 prices, although they have experienced a price increase of 4% since November of 2016.

The price from Banner Fire Equipment Company includes a discount for 100% prepayment for the purchase price.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:  The cost of the Engine Company is $453,960 plus $2,429 for a Super-Vac V18-EV Valor Series Electric PPV Fan and is included in account 401-2201-550.54-04 (CB1718) of the 2017 Community Investment Plan.

 

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS:  N/A

                     

IMPACT IF APPROVED: Less maintenance and repair expenses, virtually no down time, and this Engine Pumper will have the latest safety features standard on all apparatus purchased today.

 

IMPACT IF DENIED:  Higher maintenance and repair expenses and increased down time due to the age of the current Engine Pumper.
