Communication from the City Manager and Chief Innovation Officer with a Request to APPROVE the PURCHASE of Training Room Furniture from HENRICKSEN, in the Amount Not to Exceed $35,000.00, Utilizing the City of Peoria IPA / TCPN Joint Purchasing Contract.

BACKGROUND: The City of Peoria Innovation Team (i-team) is working with staff to build a sustainable culture of innovation within City Hall. Part of supporting this effort is making sure we provide space specifically designed and equipped to host staff innovation training and public engagement events.
The Innovation Team budgeted grant funds for 2018 to undertake the improvement of the current Human Resources Training Room (existing, city-owned space) into a space that will allow for the continued innovation trainings, presentations, workshops and public engagement events.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding for this project is provided by the Bloomberg Philanthropies Innovation Teams Program Grant.
NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: N/A
IMPACT IF APPROVED: The City of Peoria will be able to replace old and non-functioning furniture within the training room to make a more functional and adaptable space that supports innovation and engagement activities.
IMPACT IF DENIED: The City would not be able to utilize the grant funds for this project.
