Communication from the City Manager and Director of Community Development with a Request to Concur with the Recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission and Staff to ADOPT an ORDINANCE Amending Appendix A, the Unified Development Code, Relating to COMMERCIAL LIGHT INDUSTRIAL USES as Special Uses in the Class C-2 (Large Scale Commercial) District.

BACKGROUND:  The City of Peoria is requesting to amend the Permitted Use Table of the Unified Development Code to allow certain light industrial uses as a special use in the Class C-2 (Large Scale Commercial) District.  The intent of the proposed text amendment is to increase consistency of the types of industrial uses allowed by special use in the C-2 (Large Scale Commercial) District in order to maintain compatible land use and development patterns. 

 

The Planning & Zoning Commission voted 5-0 to approve the request.
