Communication from the City Manager and Finance Director/Comptroller with a Request to RECEIVE and FILE the 2016 SPRINGDALE CEMETERY MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY ANNUAL BUDGET.

BACKGROUND: On December 15, 2015, the Springdale Cemetery Management Authority adopted the 2016 Springdale Cemetery Management Authority Annual Budget at the Authority’s regular scheduled meeting. The attached budget reflects a projected loss for 2016 of ($497,775). In accordance with the intergovernmental agreement, the County of Peoria and the Peoria Park District will contribute $60,000 and $40,000 respectively towards the cemetery deficit, with the City’s projected share of the loss being $249,975. The City’s 2016 budget and five year projections include a subsidy to the Springdale Management Authority in the amount of $250,000 annually. The attached budget does not include capital expenditures for the cemetery. The City’s capital budget includes $60,000 annually for capital expenses relating to the cemetery. The City, County and Park District’s subsidies to the cemetery effectively cover the grounds maintenance and facility expenses.
