Title
Communication from the City Manager and Manager of Emergency Communications with a Request for the Following:
A. APPROVE a Dispatch Services AGREEMENT Between the CITY of PEORIA and the CHILLICOTHE COMMUNITY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT.
B. ADOPT an ORDINANCE Amending the City of Peoria 2018-2019 BIENNIAL BUDGET Relating to the General Fund to Recognize the Receipt of Funds and the Corresponding Expenditure of Funds Relating to the INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT with CHILLICOTHE COMMUNITY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT to Provide DISPATCH SERVICES, in the Amount of $2,917.

BACKGROUND: On January 1, 2016 Public Act 099-0006 became law. In that Public Act Counties that had more than two dispatch centers were required to reduce their number of dispatch centers by 50% or to two dispatch centers, whichever was greater. Peoria County, at that time, had four dispatch centers and would need to reduce to two. Two dispatch centers in Peoria County now remain in Peoria and Bartonville as Peoria began dispatch services for Chillicothe and Peoria Heights on June 1, 2018.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: The Chillicothe Community Fire Protection District will compensate the City of Peoria monthly in the amount of $ 486.20.
NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: None
IMPACT IF APPROVED: The City of Peoria will provide dispatch services to the citizens of Chillicothe Community Fire Protection District.
IMPACT IF DENIED: Chillicothe Community Fire Protection District would need to negotiate with another community for dispatch services.
ALTERNATIVES: Chillicothe Community Fire Protection District could be dispatched by another community if an agreement could be reached.
