Title

Communication from the City Manager and Community Development Director to Enter into an INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT with the PLEASURE DRIVEWAY AND PARK DISTRICT OF PEORIA Related to the Further Development of the TAWNY OAKS & SINGING WOODS Properties.

Body

BACKGROUND:  The Peoria Park District is pursuing further development of the Tawny Oaks & Singing Woods park development.  Part of this development requires the subdivision of a parcel approximately one and one-half miles from the corporate boundaries of the City of Peoria.  As the parcel is within the extra-territorial boundary of the City, the subdivision would be required to meet City Subdivision Ordinance requirements.  In this specific case, it is not possible for the parcel to meet the Subdivision Ordinance requirements.  However, as the development is intended to create additional park land that will be accessible to all residents of Peoria, City staff recommends that the Council approve this intergovernmental agreement to allow the parcel to the subdivided.
