Communication from the City Manager and Corporation Counsel with a Request to ADOPT an ORDINANCE Amending Chapter 2 of the CODE of the City of Peoria Authorizing the Creation of “FAIR EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES” within the City of Peoria.

BACKGROUND:  The City has been working diligently to increase diversity in its workforce.  The adoption of this Ordinance would move forward efforts to increase participation in City employment by women and minorities, including but not limited to the Police and Fire Departments. 

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:  N/A

 

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS:   N/A

                     

IMPACT IF APPROVED:  The City would advance its goals to diversify its workforce and create employment opportunities for all demographics.

 

IMPACT IF DENIED:   The City’s staff will need to expend more time and resources to achieve diversity goals.
