Communication from the City Manager and Fire Chief with a Request to APPROVE a RESOLUTION for the MUTUAL AID BOX ALARM SYSTEM MASTER AGREEMENT (MABAS), for the Year 2022.

BACKGROUND: The Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) was set up assist agencies in a multi-state capacity. The purpose of MABAS is to organize and coordinate responses to emergencies and disasters. There are over 1,200 Illinois units and 2,200 units across several neighboring states. By signing this agreement, Peoria Fire Department would continue to be a part of a collective group with a diverse collection of tools and resources to assist in a time of crisis.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: The PFD would benefit from collecting fees for other agencies.
NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: N/A
IMPACT IF APPROVED: The PFD will continue count on this valuable resource .
IMPACT IF DENIED: If not signed and approved, the PFD will not be able to depend and call upon MABAS in the time of emergencies.
