BACKGROUND: The Purchasing Division solicited bids for the annual purchase of sign blanks and faces for use by the Public Works Department sign shop. The Sign Shop stocks many signs for replacement, repairs and new sign installations throughout the City.
There were eleven (11) bids solicited for each item and eight (8) responded for the sign blanks, three (3) responded for sign faces, and five (5) responded for the sign poles.
The bid summaries are attached.
MD Solutions is a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE).
FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding for the purchase is provided in the Public Works Budget account 101-3041-504904.
NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: N/A
IMPACT IF APPROVED: The Public Works Department will be able to continue repairing, replacing and installing new signs as needed.
IMPACT IF DENIED: The Public Works Department will have a limited supply of signs and materials for City streets.
