Body
BACKGROUND: Attorney Sam Zabek, representing Sonny's Club, Inc., presented a Site Application for a Class B-1 (restaurant, 25% food) Liquor License, with a Subclass 1 (4:00 a.m. hours) and a Subclass 2 (live entertainment) for 633 Main St. The Liquor Commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of this Site Application at the March 7, 2016 meeting.

At the March 22, 2016 City Council Meeting, the Site Application was remanded back to the Liquor Commission in order to allow them the opportunity to fully review the history of the establishment. Staff was directed to provide a full history of the establishment for the Commission to review.

At the April 4, 2016 Liquor Commission Meeting, the attorney for the applicant requested a 30-day deferral of the case, in order to allow time for him to determine the procedures to subpoena Chief Mitchell to be present at the next public hearing.

At the May 2, 2016 Liquor Commission Meeting, the Liquor Commission unanimously stated they did not support a motion to reconsider their previous decision to approve the request for Site Approval. The Commission agreed that the additional history submitted in regards to the establishment were more operator related and not site approval issues. Minutes of the Liquor Commission Meetings are attached.
