Title
Communication from the City Manager and Community Development Director with a Request to Concur with the Recommendation from Staff to Adopt:
A. An ORDINANCE Annexing Property Located North of IL Route 6, South of Alta Lane, East of Radnor Road, Along the West Side of Allen Road, Commonly Known as the GLENHAVEN SUBDIVISION, and
B. An ORDINANCE Annexing Property Located North of IL Route 6, West of Allen Road and South of Alta Lane, commonly known as WILDER-WAITE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, Property Identified as Parcel Identification Numbers 09-31-102-004 and 09-31-102-005, with an Address of 10021 N. PACIFIC STREET, Peoria, Illinois 61615.

BACKGROUND:
On June 14, 2005 City Council approved an annexation agreement for 69 acres of land which was platted for 78 single family residentially zoned and 4 commercially zoned lots. At the time, the land was not contiguous to Peoria's corporate limits. Since that time the property has become known as the Glenhaven Subdivision with the development of numerous single family residential lots. The commercial lots have remained undeveloped.
On August 15, 2006 City Council approved an annexation agreement for the Wilder-Waite Elementary School located at 10021 N Pacific Street. At the time, the property, approximately 13 acres, was not contiguous to Peoria's corporate limits.
On January 14, 2014, City Council approved a Resolution to annex the property located at 9912 N Allen Road. This property is located immediately east of the Glenhaven Subdivision and owned by the State of Illinois, Dept of Transportation. As outlined by State Statutes, the City of Peoria completed the annexation of this property with a Resolution and final approval from Governor Pat Quinn.
The annexation of the 9912 N Allen Road allows for the City of Peoria to establish contiguity with the Glenhaven Subdivision and the Wilder-Waite School and annex both properties. This is illustrated on the attached ...
