Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works with a Request to Approve the LOW BID (#14-16) of VULCAN SIGNS, in the Amount of $38,802.20, for the Annual Purchase of Roadway Signs. (City-Wide)

BACKGROUND: The Purchasing Division solicited bids for the annual purchase of roadway signs for use by the Public Works Department sign shop. The Sign Shop stocks many signs for replacement, repairs and new sign installations throughout the City.
There were thirteen (13) bids solicited and five (6) responses were received for the signs. The bid summaries are attached.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding for this annual purchase is provided in the Public Works Traffic Control supply budget account 101-3351-544.49-04.
NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: N/A
IMPACT IF APPROVED: The Public Works Department will be able to continue repairing, replacing and installing new signs as needed.
IMPACT IF DENIED: The Public Works Department will have a limited supply of signs and materials to keep the City’s street signs up to date.
