Title
Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works with a Request for the Following: (Council District 3)
A. APPROVE a Local Agency AGREEMENT for the JURISDICTIONAL TRANSFER of GLEN AVENUE, from SHERIDAN ROAD to ILLINOIS ROUTE 40 (KNOXVILLE AVENUE), from the County Highway System to the Municipal Street System; and,
B. ADOPT an ORDINANCE Approving the TRANSFER of a Portion of GLEN AVENUE, from SHERIDAN ROAD to ILLINOIS ROUTE 40 (KNOXVILLE AVENUE), from the County Highway System to the Municipal Street System.

BACKGROUND: Peoria County and the City of Peoria entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement on September 30, 2019, for the funding and transfer of jurisdiction of the reconstructed Glen Avenue between Sheridan Road and Knoxville Avenue, Council Item 19-289.
On April 13 the Peoria County Board approved a Resolution to jurisdictionally transfer Glen Ave between Sheridan Road and Knoxville Avenue to the city. The attached Ordinance allows for the transfer of this segment immediately upon approval by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).

FINANCIAL IMPACT: The City will take over maintenance of this section of Glen Avenue.
