BACKGROUND: The City of Peoria closed its Electronic Shop on December 31, 2011 and entered into a three year contract with Supreme Radio Communications for electronic services. That contract was extended on April 15, 2015. Supreme Radio has agreed to continue to provide electronic services at a reduced rate over their last contract for an additional three year period. Supreme Radio provides electronic services for radio base stations, mobile and portable radios and most electronic equipment for Police, Fire, and Public Works vehicles. They also provide maintenance for the Peoria Fire Department’s new fire station alerting system.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding for this contract will be provided from the current operating budget of the Emergency Communications Center, Electronic Shop 101-1812-505.31-02.
NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: N/A
IMPACT IF APPROVED: Efficient maintenance, repair, and installation of electronic equipment for Police, Fire, and Public Works will continue.
IMPACT IF DENIED: Equipment would be maintained under a time and material rate.
ALTERNATIVES: Re-bid for electronic services.
