BACKGROUND: 

The City uses Access Control to secure exterior and interior doors at Police Headquarters, Municipal Building, City Hall, Twin Towers and Police Sub-Station 2. The software currently in use is outdated and will no longer be serviced by the manufacturer as of December 31, 2018. If approved, the software will be upgraded to CCURE 9000 with a Windows 10 PC.

 

The City has contracted with Midco to provide maintenance, repairs, installation of new components and installation of new systems since 2009 for the Access Control System and the City’s cameras.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:  Funding for this Project will come from the 2018 Capital Investment Plan (CB1800)

 

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS:  N/A

                     

IMPACT IF APPROVED: The City’s Access Control Software will be upgraded and serviced by Midco.

 

IMPACT IF DENIED:  The software will not be upgraded and no longer serviced as of 2019. In the event the system goes down, the City could lose all access control and doors will be unsecured.
