Communication from the City Manager and Director of Community Development with a Recommendation to ADOPT an ORDINANCE Renaming TODD DRIVE to ACADEMIC DRIVE, Peoria, IL (Council District 5).

BACKGROUND:
The City of Peoria has received a request from Methodist College to rename Todd Drive to Academic Drive. Methodist College recently acquired the former American Furniture property and received approval for an Official Development Plan for a new Methodist College Campus. The campus will include classrooms, labs, administrative office, and dormitories for student and faculty housing.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: N/A
NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: Notification letters were sent to adjacent property owners and numerous quasi-governmental agencies. No objections or concerns were received.
Emergency Communications Manager Dave Tuttle reviewed the proposed street name and does not object.
IMPACT IF APPROVED: Todd Drive will be renamed to Academic Drive.
IMPACT IF DENIED: Todd Drive will not be renamed.
