Body

BACKGROUND:  Due to time constraints, it is necessary to dispense with the first reading requirement. The Public Works Director has determined that, from time to time, City streets located in a historical district have to be reconfigured in an effort to improve public safety. Currently, the City Code requires the Public Works Director to obtain a certificate of appropriateness to reconfigure a street within a historical district. The Amendment will allow the Public Works Director to reconfigure a street located in a historical district, if he deems it to be in the best interest of public safety.
