ACTION REQUESTED: 

Title

Communication from the City Manager with a Request to ADOPT an ORDINANCE Amending CHAPTER 11 of the CODE of the City of Peoria Pertaining to FIRE PREVENTION and PROTECTION FEES.

 

Body

BACKGROUND:  On November 14, 2017, as part of the budget deliberations, the City Council gave direction to increase various Fire Prevention and Protection fees. The attached ordinance reflects to approve fee increases.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:  The increase in Fire Prevention and Protection fees will provide revenue of approximately $175,000.

 

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS:  No concerns expressed at the budget hearing or during citizen’s request to address the City Council.

                     

IMPACT IF APPROVED: Fire prevention and protection fees will be increased providing an estimated $175,000.00 in revenue.

 

IMPACT IF DENIED:  Fire prevention and protection fees will not be increased; therefore, the 2018 - 2019 Biennial Budget will need to be decreased to reflect the reduction in revenues.
