BACKGROUND:  
Over the past several years, the City of Peoria has received funding from the Illinois Motor Vehicle Theft Prevention Council for the State and Local Auto Theft Enforcement (S.L.A.T.E.) Task Force.  The amount of funds payable for the fiscal period January 1, 2014 through December 31, 2014 is $412,301.  The State and Local Auto Theft Enforcement (S.L.A.T.E.) is comprised of officers from the Illinois State Police office and various other local governmental units.  S.L.A.T.E. provides educational information, training and criminal activity prevention for vehicle theft in Illinois.  Receipt and use of the funds awarded to S.L.A.T.E. require amending the budget in the S.L.A.T.E. Special Revenue Fund by $412,301.
 
FINANCIAL IMPACT:  Increase of $412,301 in revenues and expenditures in the S.L.A.T.E. Special Revenue Fund.
