DETAILS:
ShotSpotter technology is a part of the Police Department strategy reducing gun violence and used to advance the Safe Peoria goal identified in the Council’s 2017 - 2032 Strategic Plan.
Six square miles of the City of Peoria is currently covered by ShotSpotter with an additional one square mile being added in 2023.
The current Contract with ShotSpotter is up for renewal, as it expires on May 19th, 2023.
In efforts to increase community and police relations, ShotSpotter representatives will provide a presentation on what ShotSpotter is, how it works, new initiatives they will be providing, and answer questions the Council or attendees have.
