Communication from City Manager and the Director of Public Works with a Request to APPROVE the LOW BID (#35-17) of MOBOTREX, INC., in the Amount of $26,051.12, for the Purchase of Light-Emitting Diode (LED) Traffic Signal Lights.

BACKGROUND: The Traffic Division of the Public Works Department maintains the majority of traffic signals throughout Peoria County. In order to maintain the LED Traffic Signals, materials need to be purchased on an as needed basis.
The Purchasing Division solicited bids for the purchase of LED signal lights for use by Public Works for traffic signal maintenance, including a 15-year manufacturer's warranty. LED signal specifications meet the requirements of the Illinois Department of Transportation. .
The City received four (4) responses, of which one (1) did not meet specifications and one (1) did not contain a bid. Attached is a summary of the two (2) bids that met all bidding requirements and specifications.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding for the purchase is provided in the Traffic Supplies account 101-3042-504904.
NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: NA
IMPACT IF APPROVED: Public Works will be able to maintain LED Traffic Signal globes as needed.
IMPACT IF DENIED: Public Works will not be able to maintain LED Traffic Signal globes after the limited supply is exhausted.
