Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works with a Request to ADOPT an ORDINANCE to VACATE 2,435 Square Feet (0.056 Acre) of Gale Avenue and Woodruff Boulevard to Lots 21 & 22 of the East Clarendon Addition in the Northwest Quarter of Section 4 - Township 8 North - Range 8 East, Generally Addressed Properties at 1728 N SHERIDAN ROAD. (Council District 2)

BACKGROUND: The property adjacent to the northeast corner of Sheridan Road, Gale Avenue and Woodruff Boulevard has requested that the City vacate its current Right of Way of this 2,435 Square feet of Gale Avenue and Woodruff Boulevard. This is an unused portion of Right of Way for the Public.

City staff has no objections to this vacation.

Utilities have been solicited for their infrastructure locations, which shall be left in-place in privately agreed-upon easements between the site and such utility.

The plat of vacation and proposed Ordinance are attached, herein.

FINANCIAL IMPACT: The City will no longer have to provide maintenance of this proposed Right-of-Way vacation area.

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: No known concerns.

IMPACT IF APPROVED: Staff will forward the final ordinance for to a subsequent City Council agenda. If this is ultimately approved then the adjacent parcel will absorb this former Right-of-Way.

IMPACT IF DENIED: The City will continue to own and maintain the area adjacent to the northeast corner of Sheridan Road, Woodruff Boulevard, and the north-south alley.
