BACKGROUND: The ADA Ramp Reconstruction Project will continue to implement the City's approved ADA Transition Plan. Work in 2016 will focus on sidewalk and ADA curb ramp replacement to bring intersection quadrants up to ADA compliance.

Citizen requests for ADA Ramp repairs have risen sharply. Project locations are noted on the attached map. Sites that have had recent trip complaints are included. Permeability of surface infrastructure is considered in places throughout the City as ADA Ramps are being made compliant.

The project was advertised on April 22nd and 25th with bids opened on May 13th with three bids received as follows:

Engineer's base estimate: $223,896.75

Staff requests additional authorization to increase the base bid of the lowest responsible bidder by $31,782.35 to satisfy additional liability or ADA transition concerns.

C&G Concrete Company, Inc. (C&G) is a local business that has successfully performed work for the City in the past. This contractor worked on the City's 2014 and 2015 Sidewalk Participation Programs, the second phase to the 2015 Sidewalk Participation program, and the Mount Hawley Road Sidewalk project in 2015.
