Title

Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works with a Request to AUTHORIZE the City Manager to Enter into a LEASE AGREEMENT With ENTERPRISE FLEET MANAGEMENT, INC. to Lease Four Vehicles for a Period of Three Years, in the Annual Not-to-Exceed Amount of $25,000.00.

Body

BACKGROUND:  Public Works is interested in beginning a pilot program to lease vehicles similar to its current fleet through a process that will allow us to track operational costs.  Staff has negotiated with Enterprise Fleet Management, Inc. to lease four (4) vehicles in an annual amount not to exceed $25,000, for a period of three (3) years.

Public Works will track operation and maintenance costs during this fleet leasing pilot program, and measure the benefits of both reducing upfront capital costs on low-impact use vehicles and long-term operation and maintenance costs by having a newer fleet that remains under warranty. At the end of this three-year period, Public Works will generate a report on the cost comparison of the program.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:  The cost has been included in the 2017 Public Works operating budget.
