BACKGROUND: A negotiated settlement has been reached, subject to City Council’s approval, to settle the claims contained in the above-referenced state tort lawsuit filed by Mr. Jack Wineinger against the City of Peoria and Marshall Dunnigan, arising from a vehicular-pedestrian accident for total amount of $60,000 paid to Mr. Wineinger, his attorney, and others.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:  $60,000.

IMPACT IF APPROVED:  This lawsuit would be settled.

 

IMPACT IF DENIED:   The City would continue to defend the lawsuit and will incur additional expenses to do so, including outside attorney fees.
