BACKGROUND: The City of Peoria routinely contracts for fire and security alarm monitoring installation and maintenance at city facilities. The current contract is with Oberlander Alarm Systems.

The Purchasing Division sent out 8 bid packages and 4 companies responded. Bids were opened on October 25th, as shown in the attached Bid Tabulation. Overall, Oberlander's hourly rate bid was lowest.

This contract is for a two-year period starting December 1, 2016 through November 30, 2018, with the possibility of two 1-year extensions at the City of Peoria's discretion. Oberlander Alarm Systems meets all the technical requirements of the contract.

FINANCIAL IMPACT: The approximately $18,000 annual expenditure for this contract is budgeted in the Facility Operations budget line 101-3123-546.37-15.

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: N/A

IMPACT IF APPROVED: Security and Fire Alarm monitoring and maintenance for city facilities will continue. Hourly labor rates for service and repair will be fixed per the bid documents.

IMPACT IF DENIED: Fire and intrusion alarms for city facilities will not be monitored. There will be no maintenance of intrusion, heat and smoke detection devices.
