BACKGROUND:
The City of Peoria has been assigning police officers to Peoria Public School District 150 designated schools since the Illinois Law Enforcement Trainings and Standards Board decertified the District 150 Police Department. The City of Peoria assigned four police officers to Peoria High School (Central), Manual Academy, Richwoods High School, and Woodruff Career Technical Center from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The City shall continue to provide these officers for the remainder of the 2013-14 school year.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
District 150 has agreed to compensate the City at a rate of $63.64 per hour per officer for each hour worked. The District 150 School Board approved the compensation to the City of $179,378.88, (which will cover the 88.5 days worked by 4 officers at the 4 schools until the end of the school year), at their meeting April 14, 2014.

IMPACT IF APPROVED:
Four Peoria Police Officers will remain in the designated schools.

IMPACT IF DENIED:
District 150 will not have Peoria Police Officers assigned to the schools.
