Communication from City Manager and Director of Public Works with a Request to Approve a Professional Services AGREEMENT with MILLENNIA PROFESSIONAL SERVICES, in the Amount of $90,000.00 for Engineering Assistance on Various City Projects.

BACKGROUND: On August 26, 2014, City Council approved a Master Services Agreement with Millennia Professional Services of Illinois, Ltd. in the not to exceed amount of $100,000 to provide engineering assistance on various city projects, including project management of various hot mix asphalt and pavement preservation contracts, as well as sanitary sewer projects and Motor Fuel Tax project closeouts. Public Works had identified those projects for the contract, as they did not have a project manager assigned to them.
This winter, engineering assistance is needed for final funding closeout paperwork with IDOT on MFT projects and project management planning for the 2016 Pavement Preservation Program. Millennia Professional Services staff is well-versed in IDOT project closeout and project management.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding is available for this Agreement in the Engineering Line Item #101-3240-543.31-41.
NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: This agreement will facilitate the timely maintenance of city streets.
IMPACT IF APPROVED: Engineering projects will have adequate staffing to manage.
IMPACT IF DENIED: These work items and projects will be delayed until internal staff is available to manage them.
