BACKGROUND:
The attached, proposed Ordinance amends Appendix B, the Peoria Zoning Ordinance, to allow the use Vet's Office - Household Pets, no exterior runs, in the O-1 (Arterial Office) District. This use is appropriate to the intent of the O-1 (Arterial Office) District, which is to encourage high-quality office development that serves as a transitional use between the arterial roadway and adjacent residential areas of the City. With the exception of exterior runs, this use is also currently allowed in the C-1, General Commercial and C-2, Large Scale Commercial Districts.
Note this amendment does not apply to Appendix C, the Land Development Code, because the O-1 (Arterial Office) District is not located within the boundaries applicable to Appendix C.
ZONING COMMISSION ACTION:
The Zoning Commission VOTED 5 TO 0 TO APPROVE the proposed text amendment.
