Communication from the City Manager and Fire Chief with a Request for the Following:
A. APPROVE and Accept a GRANT from the FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA) for the ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT (AFG), in the Amount of $18,000.00; and,
B. ADOPT an ORDINANCE Amending the City of Peoria 2023 REVISED ANNUAL BUDGET Relating to the General Fund, to Recognize the Receipt of Grant Funding from FEMA for the ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT (AFG), in the Amount of $18,000.00. (Requires 2/3 Vote of Corporate Members Voting - No Less Than 6 Votes)

BACKGROUND: The purpose of the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program is to protect the health and safety of the public and firefighting personnel against fire and fire-related hazards. This grant assists firefighters and first responders obtain critically needed resources necessary to perform such actions.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: This could provide funding for proper training programs to protect the public and firefighting personnel against fire and fire-related hazards.
