Communication from the City Manager and Corporation Counsel with a Request to APPROVE the RESOLUTION Releasing the MINUTES of CLOSED MEETINGS Listed on Schedule A and Finding the Need for Confidentiality Remains as to the Minutes of Schedule B.

BACKGROUND: Section 2.06 of the Open Meetings Act requires the City Council to semi-annually meet to determine whether the need for confidentiality still exists as to Closed Session Minutes. The attached Minutes listed on Schedule A do not require confidentiality any longer. In addition, the attached Resolution authorizes the Clerk to destroy verbatim tapes of Closed Sessions more than eighteen months old and written Minutes having been approved for all such meetings, as is required by Section 2.06(c) of the Open Meetings Act.
