Title
Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works with a Request to ADOPT an ORDINANCE Amending CHAPTER 9.5 of the CODE of the City of Peoria Regarding STORM WATER VOLUME CONTROL.

BACKGROUND: The current volume control requirement was adopted on October 11, 2016 (Ref. Council Item 16-313) as part of an effort to reduce stormwater runoff from private properties to help reduce the combined sewer overflow problem. The current ordinance has a note that made the ordinance effective September 1, 2006 and applies to any project that does not have an approved site plan or approved preliminary or final plat on that date. This update will make the volume control requirements apply to any project constructed after the date this ordinance is adopted.

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: Good stormwater management is a benefit to neighborhoods
IMPACT IF APPROVED: Volume control will be required for future projects.
IMPACT IF DENIED: Volume control will be required for any project that does not have an approved site plan or approved preliminary or final plat prior to September 1, 2006.
