BACKGROUND:
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE GRANT - Over the past several years, the City of Peoria has received funding from the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (pass-thru form the Department of Justice) for various domestic violence training and programs. The grant period was August 1, 2013 through July 31, 2014 and the total grant amount was $54,359. $22,650 was added to the budget during 2013, so the remaining $31,709 is applicable to the period January 1, 2014 through July 31, 2014. The City has also received a grant for the period August 1, 2014 through July 31, 2015 in the amount of $54,359. However, the amount of funds payable in 2014 is $22,650 with the remaining $31,709 being applicable to the period January 1, 2015 through July 31, 2015. This grant provides educational information, training and development of effective victim service programs in Illinois. The receipt and expenditure of these grants needs to be reflected in the FY2014 General Fund Budget in the amount of $31,709 and $22,650 respectively.

TOBACCO ENFORCEMENT GRANT - The Tobacco Enforcement grant is awarded by the State of Illinois. The grant period was August 1, 2013 to July 31, 2014 and the total grant for this period is $11,000. $5,500 was added to the budget during 2013, so the remaining $5,500 was applicable to the period January 1, 2014 through July 31, 2014.
