Communication from the City Manager with a Request from the Sister City Commission to Approve a RESOLUTION Establishing AYTOU, LEBANON, as a SISTER CITY To Peoria, Illinois, USA.

BACKGROUND: At its January 15, 2014 meeting, the Sister City Commission unanimously recommended that the City of Peoria engage the village of Aytou, Lebanon as an official sister city to Peoria. The relationship between Peoria and Aytou is over a century old and thousands of Peorians can trace their lineage to this community. The attached resolution, if passed, will be presented to the Mayor of Aytou.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: None.
NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: None. There was unanimous support from the Sister City Commission.
IMPACT IF APPROVED: Aytou, Lebanon will become a Sister City.
IMPACT IF DENIED: Aytou, Lebanon will not become a Sister City.
