BACKGROUND: A negotiated settlement has been reached, subject to City Council’s approval, to settle the claims contained in the above-referenced federal lawsuit filed by Ron Lightbody against the City of Peoria et al, arising from the Plaintiff’s removal from the approved tow list in May, 2014.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:  As per the settlement agreement which includes a full and final release in exchange for a payment of $50,000, inclusive of attorney’s fees.

 

NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS:   N/A

                     

IMPACT IF APPROVED:  This lawsuit would be settled.

 

IMPACT IF DENIED:   The City would continue to defend the lawsuit and will incur additional expenses to do so.
