Title
Communication from the City Manager and Director of Public Works with a Request to APPROVE the PURCHASE of REPLACEMENT POLICE VEHICLES through the State of Illinois Contract Bid Process, in the Total Amount of $207,918.00.

BACKGROUND: The vehicles listed below are at the end of their useful life as police vehicles. The chart below shows the current mileage as well as the projected mileage for one year from now, if kept in service. The chart also shows the maintenance and repair cost to date. The formula used for replacement is as follows: One point per year for age, one point for every thousand (1,000) miles driven,1-5 points for type of service, 1-4 points for reliability, 1-5 points for percentage of maintenance and repair cost (versus purchase price), and 1-4 points for vehicle condition.
