Communication from the City Manager and the Fire Chief with a Request to APPROVE a THREE-YEAR CONTRACT with SITEMED NORTH AMERICA LLC for Medical/Fitness Examination, Testing and Evaluation Services, in the Amount of $79,380.00 for Each Year, with NFPA Standards Additional Services not-to-exceed $25,620.00, for a Total of $105,000.00 Per Year Beginning in the Year 2020.

BACKGROUND: Annual medical/fitness examinations, testing and evaluation services is mandated through the IAFF Local #50 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The medical/fitness examinations, testing and evaluation services was put out for bid, with the City receiving two responses. Below are the responses received:

IWIRC *$122,061.87 Included
*Illinois Work Injury Resource Center (IWIRC) included yearly increases in their bid; first year $122,061.87, second year $128,168.46, and third year $134,573.67.
SiteMed North America LLC has submitted no price increase for a three year period.
Both SiteMed North America LLC and IWIRC met all bid criteria. The department currently uses IWIRC but has had many problems with timely responses, timely exams, etc.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: The department currently has budgeted $105,000.00 in the operational budget line item 1012221-503999
NEIGHBORHOOD CONCERNS: N/A
IMPACT IF APPROVED: Personnel will have medical evaluations on an annual basis with no price increase over the next three years.
IMPACT IF DENIED: Personnel will have medical evaluations on an annual basis at a much higher cost to the budget.
